In 1971 Sindy went through yet another transformation, although she did had one inbetween 'New Look' of 1968 and this look for 1971, which was the centre parted Sindy with the old style head and neck in one piece. Now her head was remolded and sat on a ball joint so it could be posed, she also had bendable legs, like the second edition original Sindy, and the twist waist and eyelashes, like 'New Look'...so she was a bit of both but bought up to date for the new decade. She was named 'Trendy Girl'...
Trendy girl seems to be the most popular Sindy for Pedigree Sindy collectors, even those that don't remember her, or didn't have one as a child collect her now. You can see why, she's adorable. This particular Trendy Girl had a bad hair day, so I boil permed her hair and trimmed off all the 'dry', woolly ends. Her complexion is very 'Peaches and Cream', to use a phrase a fellow collector described her to me as, it really is like that as well. But Trendy, as like all Sindy's, did come with various complexions.
The first outfit she was issued in was a wonderful sweater and pants set, the sweater was ribbed cotton jersey in bright canary yellow with horizontal stripes of red across the body and plain sleeves and turtle neck of canary yellow, the pants were pillar box red, and she wore a head band, hippy style, in white with red threads running though it and tiny 'bobbles' on both edges.
Sindy was photographed in the style books wearing all the latest Sindy fashions, some still from previous years and some new. Here's my tribute to Trendy Girl and her fashions, as always, Pedigree kept Sindy bang up to date, descriptions of these fashions can be found in the various sections on this site..I hope you enjoy this section and who knows, if your not already, maybe you'll became hooked on Trendy Girl to !...............

'Hot Pants' 1972...This Trendy had such a bad hair day that I shaved it off and re-rooted her with a similar texture and colour hair to the original. This is the style Trendy Girl had when she was sold, a shoulder length flip, notice her darker face colouring, perfect for a brunette.
