Sindy Our Pedigree Girl Of The 60's

Much is said about how Sindy was a bit old fashioned when she was first released, but what we forget is that it was the early 60's, and 50's fashions were still around, also, Sindy was very much 'Home Counties' rather than 'Kings Road' in 63...it wasn't until 68 that Sindy really hit the streets of London and became that fashionable girl about town. Here are some of the real life influances that made Sindy what she was, showing that they were out there, and they were fashionable.

 Without a shadow of a doubt, Pedigree used this design for Sindy's ultra fashionable 'Cats Eye' sunglasses in 'Winter Holiday' and 'Seaside Sweetheart'..

 A 60's Dansette, very similar to Sindy's portable record player in 'Dream Date'...

Below, Una Stubbs in 'Summer Holiday' with Cliff Richard. She wears an identical hairstyle to Sindy's first back combed bob, showing that our little lady followed in very famous footsteps when it came to her trendy hairdo.

 

The Sloppy Joe sweater, seen here worn by a student in student rooms back in the early 60's.....

As you can see, poor old Paul might get a lot of stick for not being too good looking, but his hair cut is copied from a star of the time !...ps..I think Paul is lovely blesss him...
